Insurance

Baylor Travel Medicine requests payment in full at the time of visit. Payment by check, debit card or credit card is preferred.

If you plan to submit your Travel Medicine invoice to your insurance company for reimbursement, pleased be advised of the following:

  • Travel Medicine consultations are "nurse visits" and are not reimbursed by insurance.
  • Vaccines may or may not be reimbursed. Reimbursement is determined by the type of insurance coverage you have, and if your policy covers "preventive" care.
  • We recommend you contact your insurance company before your appointment to determine your coverage for Travel Medicine services.
  • If you are a member of an HMO, your insurance may have a "preferred provider" for Travel Medicine services. In this case, you will need to be seen by the "preferred provider" to qualify for reimbursement.
  • Medicare does not cover Travel Medicine services.
  • Baylor Travel Medicine does not file insurance.

When you submit your Travel Medicine invoice to your insurance company for reimbursement, be sure to clearly indicate that any reimbursement due is to be paid directly to you. If your insurance company erroneously sends a check to Baylor Travel Medicine, Baylor Family Medicine, or to Dr. Corboy the check will be mailed back to the insurance company and your reimbursement will be delayed.
