The time to schedule a visit to Baylor Travel Medicine
is as soon as you begin planning an international journey (preferably 4-6 weeks
before departure), to allow time for vaccinations to provide maximum protection.
Our Travel Services include:
- Pre-travel assessments to identify and reduce potential health risks while abroad
- Customized, in-depth reports compiled from the authorities – including the
World Health Organization, Centers for Disease Control and U.S. Department of State
– on health and safety risks for your destinations
- Recommendations for and administration of immunizations required for entry or for
health protection
- International Certificate of Vaccination document
- Food and water precautions
- Prescriptions for illness/disease prevention and self-treatment
- Contact information for embassies and recommended medical facilities (where available)
- Recommendations for preparing a personal travel kit
- Physical exams and lab work (may require an additional appointment)

July 10, 2008 - Notice To Our Patients: Merck, the manufacturer of the Zostavax vaccine, has announced an 8 week delay in production. Due to this delay BFM is not scheduling appointments for the shingles vaccine at this time. We will be happy to take your name and number and call you for an appointment when the vaccine becomes available. Thank you for your patience.
