Baylor Family Medicine is pleased to offer our patients group visits, an innovative approach to healthcare that delivers benefits beyond traditional office visits.

What is a group visit?

Group visits provide patients an additional opportunity to meet with their doctor on a regular basis to learn how to deal with common health problems such as diabetes, hypertension or asthma.

Benefits include:

  • Peer support
  • The ability to learn from others with similar health problems
  • Improved self-care
  • The potential for improved clinical outcomes
  • Improved overall satisfaction with care

How does a group visit work?

During group visits, a physician and support staff members meet with a group of patients to provide education on a specific disease or health problem, addressing each individual’s concerns and questions. In some cases patients’ family members and caregivers are also invited to attend.
